PP Health Malaysia (PPHM) Launches “ASEAN Health” Column Coinciding with 2025 Summit Chaired by Malaysia

Key Insights ▼

PP Health Malaysia today announced the launch of “ASEAN Health”, a dedicated health column covering public‑health developments, policy shifts and innovations across the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

The launch coincides with the ASEAN Summit 2025, hosted and chaired by Malaysia, underscoring the country’s role in leading and promoting regional health cooperation and cross‑border health security.

“Illness and health policy do not stop at borders”

ASEAN Health will publish succinct, evidence‑based reporting and analysis on health issues affecting the 11 ASEAN member states: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor‑Leste and Vietnam.

The column will focus on topics that matter to health professionals, policymakers, civil society and the public across the region, including communicable disease outbreaks, non‑communicable diseases, health research, health financing and universal health coverage, health workforce dynamics, digital health innovations, and environmental health risks such as transboundary haze and air pollution.

ASEAN Health combines timely news briefs with in‑depth features, data visualisations, first‑person accounts from the frontline and expert commentary. Each piece will link developments to implications for Malaysia and the broader region, and will adhere to strict sourcing and verification practices, referencing official ministry statements, regional agencies such as WHO Western Pacific and ASEAN Secretariat documents, and peer‑reviewed research.

“Illness and health policy do not stop at borders,” said Tony Y, Editor‑in‑Chief, PP Health Malaysia. “With Malaysia chairing the ASEAN Summit 2025, it is the right moment to highlight regional collaboration, share lessons and hold ourselves accountable for better health outcomes across our neighbourhood.
