Columbia Asia Hospital Batu Kawan has officially joined the panel networks of Prudential and Prudential BSN Takaful (PruBSN), following two separate onboarding ceremonies held at the hospital on 8 and 9 December 2025.
The hospital, which began operations in July this year, now enables Prudential and PruBSN medical policyholders to access healthcare services at Columbia Asia Hospital Batu Kawan under their respective coverage, subject to policy and certificate terms and conditions. Prudential currently serves over three million policyholders nationwide across both insurance and takaful.
With this onboarding, all 13 Columbia Asia hospitals in Malaysia are now on panel with Prudential and PruBSN. Within just five months of operations, Columbia Asia Hospital Batu Kawan has also been appointed as a panel hospital for several reputable healthcare third‑party administrators.
Located in close proximity to the Batu Kawan Industrial Park, the hospital is well positioned to support companies and employee benefits policyholders under Prudential coverage.
The impact of the panel appointment was immediate. On the first onboarding day, 8 December, the hospital received a Prudential policyholder case at its Accident & Emergency Department. With this panel appointment, the surrounding community now has access to emergency care closer to home.
Columbia Asia Hospital Batu Kawan is equipped with 31 clinics, 213 beds, six clinical floors, and eight levels of parking. The hospital currently offers a wide range of medical disciplines, including cardiology, orthopaedics, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, ENT, ophthalmology, general surgery, and internal medicine. Additional specialties such as dermatology, nephrology, neurology, neurosurgery, and urology will be introduced in the future.
The hospital’s facilities are designed to support both emergency and planned care, featuring an Accident & Emergency Department, a Health Screening Unit, five operating theatres, a physiotherapy centre, a special care nursery, a Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory, and a comprehensive radiology department equipped with a 160‑slice CT scanner, a 1.5 Tesla MRI, mammography, and ultrasound services.
Each ceremony was attended by over 110 guests, including Top Agency Leaders and Elite Agents from Prudential and Prudential BSN Takaful. Speeches were delivered by representatives of both organisations.
The 8 December ceremony was attended by Prudential representatives, including the Head of Provider Management & Connected Care, Ms Ariel Chan, and the Provider Management & Connected Care Manager, Ms Lim Yiing Yiing. A speech was delivered by the CEO of Columbia Asia Hospital Batu Kawan, En Mohd Shafee Awang.
The Prudential BSN Takaful ceremony on 9 December was attended by the Takaful Growth Executive, Encik Muhammad Fikri Zalani, and other members of the PruBSN team. The Regional CEO of Columbia Asia (Southern Region), Encik Anwar Anis, delivered a speech during the event.
“We are confident that this partnership will bring mutual value, streamline processes for both our teams, and most importantly, ensure the best possible care for patients who place their trust in us,” told PP Health Malaysia (PPHM) in a press release shared with us.
The ceremonies also featured a hospital presentation, an overview of value‑added services for Prudential and PruBSN policyholders, a guided hospital tour, and a meet‑and‑greet session with consultants.
The two panel onboardings reflect Columbia Asia Hospital Batu Kawan’s ongoing engagement with insurance and takaful partners to support access to healthcare services for insured and covered members. The hospital will continue to work within each organisation’s panel framework to support Prudential policyholders and PruBSN members seeking treatment at the hospital
